The Kankakee County Health Department and Jumpstart have built an awesome partnership. Jumpstart Staff from the Jumpstart program spend time in our lobby on a weekly basis. They provide developmental screenings to our young WIC and immunizations clients and the siblings of our infant clients to ensure kindergarten readiness. They offer parenting tips to families waiting to be seen, and teach parents interactive play activities. Through this partnership our families can receive additional benefits while coming to KCHD for services, and are receiving services needed to help children be successful in school.
